March 1 Odessa police arrested 33-year-old Barbara Hutchinson and charged her with driving while intoxicated, third or more, and tampering with physical evidence, both of which are third-degree felonies. Officers pulled over a white 2007 Ford F-150, driven by Hutchinson, in the 100 block of East University Boulevard at 12:44 a.m. March 1. Police made contact with Hutchinson, who appeared to be intoxicated on a substance other than alcohol, and saw a green leafy substance inside of her mouth. Hutchinson told officers it was synthetic marijuana. A female officer searched Hutchinson and found synthetic marijuana inside of her bra. Investigation revealed Hutchinson had two previous DWI convictions. Hutchinson, 1355 N. Moss Ave., was being held March 2 at the Ector County Detention Center on $30,000 bond.
