COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: UTPB sees season end in Lone Star Conference Championship semifinals

SAN ANGELO The UTPB volleyball team fell in its Lone Star Conference Tournament semifinal match against West Texas A&M Friday at Angelo State.

The Buffaloes defeated the Falcons 25-14, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22.

UTPB was led on the offensive end by Aquincia Strambler, who recorded 18 kills, and Analise Lucio’s 42 assists.

The Falcons had reached the semifinal match after upsetting top-seeded Angelo State 25-22, 17-25, 25-20, 18-25, 15-11 Thursday.

It was UTPB’s deepest conference tournament run since becoming a member of the Lone Star Conference.

West Texas A&M will play in the championship match against St. Edward’s Saturday in San Angelo.
