SAN ANTONIO The UTPB softball team concluded its series against St. Mary’s with a 9-1 loss Friday on the road.
With the loss, the Falcons fell to 4-32 overall, 1-26 in Lone Star Conference play.
St. Mary’s did most of the damage in the first and second innings.
St. Mary’s (22-17, 17-10) took a five-run lead in the first inning and scored three more in the second for an 8-0 advantage.
Jadyn Abrego was the winning pitcher for St. Mary’s while Laila Vasquez took the loss in the circle for UTPB.
UTPB will next face Texas A&M International in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. April 6.
