COLLEGE BASEBALL: Wranglers extend winning streak after finishing sweep over Western Texas College

The Odessa College baseball team is now on a six-game winning streak after completing a four-game sweep against Western Texas College Friday at Wrangler Ballpark.

The Wranglers (18-16 overall, 10-6 in Western Junior College Athletic Conference) won by scores of 9-5 and 10-2 in Friday’s doubleheader.

Odessa College began the series by winning 11-9 and 10-3 Thursday in Snyder.

In the first game on Friday, Odessa College had 11 hits and one error while the Westerners had seven hits and no errors.

The Wranglers scored six runs in the third inning to take an 8-0 lead and fought off a late rally from the Westerners.

In the final game on Friday, Odessa College scored four runs in the fourth inning to taka 6-0 lead and once again remain in control.

The Wranglers had ten hits and one error while the Westerners had four hits and two errors.

Odessa College will next face Frank Phillips College in a four-game series beginning at noon April 5 in Borger.
