COLLEGE SOFTBALL: Lady Wranglers dominant in five-inning victories

BROWNWOOD The Odessa College softball team picked up two five-inning victories at the Cisco College Invite Saturday.

The first win was by a 12-0 score against Temple College and the second came against McCook Community College with an 11-2 final score.

Odessa College extended its winning streak to 11 games in the early portion of its 2022 season.

The Lady Wranglers got out to a fast start against Temple College, bringing in eight runners in the top of the first inning.

That set the tone for the team to blank its opponent through the rest of the contest.

Aydenne Brown was instrumental in the first victory, pitching all five innings and striking out 11 batters with no hits allowed.

Ari Ybarra and Kaylean Ayala led the Lady Wranglers with three RBIs each.

Odessa College also had a similar start against McCook Community College, leading 9-1 at the end of the second inning.

Fadwa Ben Karim pitched all five innings in that contest, allowing four hits and striking out three.
