COLLEGE BASEBALL: UTPB swept by Angelo State

SAN ANGELO The UTPB baseball team was swept in its final road series of the regular season as the Falcons fell in a pair of games to No. 12 Angelo State in Lone Star Conference play Sunday at First Community Credit Union Stadium.

UTPB was held to just one hit in a 5-0 loss from a game that started Saturday but was completed Sunday due to inclement weather. The Falcons managed 11 hits in the second game but couldn’t keep pace with the Rams in a 17-5 defeat in seven innings. Cole Dickie led UTPB (12-23 overall, 9-21 conference) in the seven-inning game with two doubles and a home run.

Josh Elvir hit a pair of home runs and drove in six runs total to help the Rams (31-6, 25-5) complete the sweep.
