Four area tennis players found out the path they would have to take for a state title as the UIL officially released brackets for the state tennis tournament Sunday. The tournament will be held at three different venues May 20-21 in San Antonio.
The Wink boys doubles team of Grabiel Muniz and Myah Torres will open the tournament against Asa Dawson and Duece Garrett of Cushing. In girls singles, Wink’s Kate Ramirez will face Mason’s Makenna Palacio in the opening match at Blossom Tennis Center.
Midland High’s Tyler Stewart won the Region I-6A title in boys singles and will face Charles Kuchler of Katy Tompkins in his opening match at Northside Tennis Center.
