Woman accused of firing weapon at group

An Odessa woman was arrested late Wednesday night after she admitted to firing a handgun multiple times 10 hours earlier and shouting “Why are you all ducking?”

According to Odessa Police Department reports, officers received a call from the 4500 block of North Texas Avenue about shots being fired shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday.

When officers arrived, three people told them that Felicity Cross, 22, began a fight over her shoes and when they tried to get her to leave, she waived a handgun at all of them and fired shots before leaving with another woman, the reports stated.

At 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, officers received a suspicious vehicle call from the same address and officers found five people inside the vehicle, including Cross, reports stated.

Officers found narcotics and a 9 mm handgun inside a purse Cross admitted was hers and that she’d been involved in the incident earlier that morning, the report stated.

According to the report, “During the altercation Felicity advised that she displayed the firearm and fired a total of two shots. She stated that she shouted ‘Why are you all ducking?”

The woman who drove Cross to and from the scene told officers both shots were in the air and she confirmed Cross had asked why everyone was ducking, the report stated.

Cross was booked into the Ector County jail on suspicion of three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, theft of a firearm, evading arrest, unlawful carrying of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

According to the report, the gun was reported stolen out of Marion, Indiana.

She’s being held on surety bonds totaling $132,000.
