The Odessa Police Department has charged two suspects in connection with a stabbing that occurred Wednesday morning, an OPD press release stated.

Armando Quinonez, 18, and Kristian Dutchover, 19, have been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony, the release detailed. Both men were placed into custody around 2:48 p.m. Friday following a traffic stop near University Boulevard and Andrews Highway.

Police initially responded to the stabbing around 10:37 a.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of South Texas Ave., the release detailed.

The release stated Quinonez and Dutchover had both assaulted a family member, 41-year-old Mario Macias, with a beer bottle and stabbed him multiple times before fleeing,

Macias then drove himself to Medical Center Hospital, and was last reported to be in fair condition, the release said.

Jail records show Quinonez and Dutchover were taken to the Ector County Detention Center Friday and bonds will be set Monday.
