ECSO warns of phone scam

The Ector County Sheriff’s Office said Friday there is a phone scam telling people they are with the Ector County Sheriff’s Office and they have an active warrant for their arrest.

ECSO does not call and advise of any outstanding warrants, an ECSO news release said.

The phone scam is a recording that encourages the person to go to a 7-Eleven and purchase a money order and to send it to them to avoid being arrested, the release stated.

ECSO is asking the public not to comply with the phone message, and that the office does not conduct business in that manner.
