HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Odessa High falls to Wolfforth Frenship

WOLFFORTH The Odessa High baseball team was held in check offensively in its return to play following a week off as the Bronchos fell 4-1 to Wolfforth Frenship in District 2-6A play Tuesday at Tiger Field.

Odessa High had just three hits in the game, two of them coming from Isaiah Rodriguez. Gabriel Avila drove in the Bronchos’ (15-10 overall, 6-8 district) only run with a single in the fourth inning.

Brock Rogers led the Tigers (17-11, 11-3) with two hits and got a strong pitching effort from Haydden Kennard, who struck out four batters in a complete-game effort as Frenship moved into second place in the district standings. Odessa High is now tied with San Angelo Central for fourth place. The series continues at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Pressly Field.
