Jan. 28 Odessa police arrested 42-year-old Raymond Richards and charged him with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a third-degree felony. Officers responded at 1 p.m. Jan. 28 to the 1900 block of West Second Street in reference to a suspicious man occupying a silver BMW. Police made contact with the man matching the suspect’s description, identified as Richards, and found him to be in possession of a loaded shotgun. Investigation revealed Richards was a convicted felon. Richards, 495 County Road 152, Abilene, was being held Jan. 31 at the Ector County Detention Center on $20,000 bond.
