GIRLS SOCCER: Odessa High draws Dripping Springs to open weekend in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN The Odessa High girls soccer team tied with Dripping Springs 2-2 on Thursday night to start its weekend at the Governor’s Cup tournament at Georgetown High School.

Candace Mireles scored off an assist from Ashley Venegas and Abby Salcido netted another goal off a Malarie Ramirez assist for the Lady Bronchos, who trailed 1-0 at halftime but scored twice in the second half to pull even.

Odessa High (5-1-2) will play Plugerville Hendrickson’s second team Friday at noon before wrapping up the weekend at 10 a.m. Saturday against Clear Springs.
