ECTOR COUNTY FELONY DISPOSITIONS Jan. 14, 2016

The following is a list of felony dispositions from the Ector County District Clerk’s Office. Listed attorneys do not necessarily represent who was involved when the case was disposed.

ASSAULT

  • Joel Baeza, 43, had a charge of assault (family violence) dismissed Jan. 9. Judge Denn Whalen presided. Michael McLeaish was the defense attorney and Brooke Hendricks was the prosecutor.
  • Tilman Wade Thomas, 46, had a charge of aggravated assault dismissed Jan. 9. Whalen presided. Lawrence Barber was the defense attorney and Clay George was the prosecutor.

DEADLY CONDUCT

  • Kevin Smith, 48, had a charge of deadly conduct dismissed Jan. 9. Whalen presided. Jason Leach was the defense attorney. The prosecuting attorney was not listed.

ENDANGERING A CHILD

  • Dominic Ray Silvas, 19, had a charge of endangering a child dismissed Jan. 9. Whalen presided. Adrian Chavez was the defense attorney and George was the prosecutor.

INJURY TO ELDERLY

  • Johnny Guerrero Jordan, 50, had a charge of injury to an elderly individual dismissed Jan. 4 due to insufficient evidence. Judge John Smith presided. BJ Brown was the defense attorney and Chris Fostel was the prosecutor.

INTOXICATION MANSLAUGHTER

  • Daniel Leigh Coburn, 33, pleaded guilty Jan. 9 to intoxication manslaughter and was sentenced to five years probation. Whalen approved the deal. David Zavoda was the defense attorney and Hendricks was the prosecutor.

KIDNAPPING

  • Joshua Quijano, 23, pleaded guilty Jan. 10 to kidnapping and was sentenced to eight years probation. Judge Stacy Trotter approved the deal. Kevin Acker was the defense attorney. The prosecuting attorney was not listed.

POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

  • Samuel J. Breon Mims, 20, pleaded guilty Jan. 9 to possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), five pounds or more but less than 50 pounds, and was sentenced to four years probation and deferred adjudication. Whalen approved the deal. Israel Guardiola was the defense attorney. The prosecuting attorney was not listed.
  • Alonso V. Sanchez, 33, pleaded guilty Jan. 9 to possession of a controlled substance, one gram or more but less than four grams, and was sentenced to three years probation. Trotter approved the deal. Tony Chavez was the defense attorney. The prosecuting attorney was not listed.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF VEHICLE

  • Daniel Loyd Chew, 43, had a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle dismissed Jan. 4 due to insufficient evidence. Smith presided. Robert Hollmann was the defense attorney. The prosecuting attorney was not listed.
