The Odessa College softball team moved up to No. 1 in the rankings this week in the NJCAA poll which was released on Monday.
The Lady Wranglers (40-4 overall, 16-0 in WJCAC) are ranked No. 1 for the first time this season.
Odessa College was followed by Wallace State (43-5), Florida Southwestern (43-5), Walters State (42-2) and Grayson (39-7) to round up the top five rankings.
The Lady Wranglers are coming off a bye week. They will be back on the field this week when they face El Paso Community College in a four-game series beginning Friday at 1 p.m. at Wrangler Stadium.
Odessa College hasn’t lost a game since a 2-1 contest against McMurry University on March 15 in Abilene.
They have won 18 straight since then.
