Chick-fil-A to honor scholarship recipients

A local Chick-fil-A restaurant, Chick-fil-A Odessa Town Center, has announced that three team members received a 2023 Remarkable Futures Scholarship from Chick-fil-A Inc.

The restaurant will have a celebration at 10 a.m. today to honor these incredible Team Members and award them their scholarships in front of family and friends. Recipients are:

  •  Paula Rodriguez, a team member for nearly nine years, will receive the scholarship for a second straight year to continue her studies at the University of Texas Permian Basin as she pursues her master’s degree in marketing.
  •  Halynn Hewitt has been a team member for two years and a prior recipient of the scholarship. The high school junior is also attending Odessa College and will use the scholarship in her pursuit of an associate degree in general studies.
  •  Easton Hewitt is a first-time scholarship recipient. The high school freshman is pursuing an associate degree in general studies from Odessa College.

Chick-fil-A restaurant operators nominate team members who possess strong leadership skills, demonstrate a commitment to academic achievement and a desire to make a positive impact on their communities, a news release said.

This year, Chick-fil-A, Inc. is announcing more than $25 million in scholarships, investing in higher education for more than 13,000 restaurant Team Members across the U.S. and Canada for their incredible personal stories and exceptional perseverance.

To date, Chick-fil-A has helped 93,000 Team Members achieve their dreams through more than $162 million in scholarships since 1973 – marking 50 years of the Remarkable Futures scholarship program.
