WOMEN’S COLLEGE SOCCER: UTPB coach on paid administrative leave after allegations

UTPB women’s soccer coach Carla Tejas has been placed on paid administrative leave after a series of allegations against her from an anonymous group of players.

The allegations range from illegal conduct to NCAA infractions and inappropriate behavior.

In a statement released from the school, UTPB Athletic Director Todd Dooley said: “We are aware of the allegations made against Coach Tejas. As a result, she has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

“Because this is an ongoing personnel matter, the University will not be able to comment further at this time.”

Tejas, in her first season at the helm of the Falcons, was arrested on Sept. 11 for driving while intoxicated.

According to the Odessa Police Department probable cause affidavit, Tejas consented to providing a breath specimen. The breath specimens provided by Tejas resulted in a .176 and .173. Both are more than twice the legal limit.
