FRISCO The UTPB women’s basketball team came up short in its bid for a Lone Star Conference title, losing to Texas Woman’s University 70-60 in the tournament championship Sunday at the Comerica Center.
The Falcons (24-7) were led in scoring by Kamryn Lemon’s 22 points. She was the only Falcon to score in double-figures.
It was the first Lone Star Conference tournament championship appearance for UTPB.
Texas Woman’s (29-4) was led by Averee Kleinhans’ 20 points while Jada Celsur had 17 and Ashley Ingram finished with 12 points.
UTPB will now await its fate in the NCAA Division II tournament.
