HOBBS, N.M. The Odessa College women’s basketball team fell behind early in its 86-59 loss to New Mexico Junior College Thursday on the road.
It was the Lady Wranglers’ sixth loss in Western Junior College Athletic Conference play.
New Mexico Junior College closed out the first half with a 10-point lead over Odessa College and guaranteed a win by outscoring the Lady Wranglers 33-15 in the third quarter.
Lala Niankan led Odessa College with 16 points, while Taya Davis recorded 10 assists.
The Lady Wranglers weren’t able to string together consecutive conference victories after recording a 51-33 win over Howard College earlier this week.
Odessa College (5-15 overall, 2-6 conference) will face Clarendon College at 5:45 p.m. Monday at the OC Sports Center.
