NORTH AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE: Jackalopes fall to El Paso on the road

EL PASO The Odessa Jackalopes came up short in their 5-4 loss to the Rhinos Friday night on the road.

The Jackalopes fell behind 1-0 in the first period after a goal by Paavo Hiltunen.

Odessa now sits at 3-5-0-1 while the Rhinos are 6-3.

The Rhinos had a 4-1 lead after the second period.

Odessa got three goals back in the third period with Hayden DeMars, Trevor Mitchell and Kowin Belsterling all finding the back of the net but it was not enough as El Paso’s goal by Tory Lund kept the game out of reach.

Both teams will be back at it with an 8 p.m. contest Saturday at the El Paso County Events Center.
