The Odessa High Bronchos will take on the Abilene High Eagles in the area round of the Class 6A baseball playoffs at Moegle Field in Lubbock.
Game 1 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday with Game 2 at noon Saturday. Game 3, if necessary, would start 30 minutes following the conclusion of Game 2.
Odessa High (24-9) advanced by sweeping El Paso Americas 3-2 and 9-3 in the bi-district round. The Bronchos, the fourth seed out of District 2-6A, were the only district team to survive the first round. Odessa High last made the second round in 2009, when the Bronchos reached the regional semifinals.
Abilene High (20-11) swept Arlington High 5-1 and 5-3 in its bi-district series. The Eagles are in the second round for the first time since 2015.
