The Odessa High softball team will host an important contest against Abilene High at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ratliff Softball Complex.
The Lady Bronchos are in third place in the District 2-6A standings and could get some breathing room with a victory over the Lady Eagles.
Odessa High (11-8-1 overall, 6-4 district) came away with an 8-6 victory against Abilene High (14-8, 5-4) in their last matchup March 22 in Abilene.
Both teams are coming off shut out victories, with Odessa High defeating Midland Legacy 3-0 and Abilene High overpowering Wolfforth Frenship 9-0 Tuesday.
