ABILENE The Odessa High and Permian gymnastics teams began the compulsory round of their district meet Thursday at Abilene Cooper.
Permian’s girls team closed out the first day with a 106.20 team score, led by Isabella Fanucci’s fifth-place standing in the all-around with a 36.70 score.
Sydney Vaughn was seventh in the all-around, recording a 36.10.
The Odessa High girls were fourth with a 93.30 team score, led by Victoria Alvarez who recorded a 34.85 in the all-around to land in eighth.
The Permian boys finished the first round in second, while Odessa High landed in fourth.
Sincere Galindo’s 55.90 points in the all-around helped the Panthers record a 153.50 score.
Jabezz Chavez recorded a 53.90 all-around score to help the Bronchos put up a 143.10.
The meet will end with an optional round at 11 a.m. Friday in Abilene.
