HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Bronchos, Panthers ready to continue respective series

The Odessa High baseball team is set to face Midland Legacy in the second game of their three-game District 2-6A series.

The Bronchos will host at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Pressly Field, looking to take control of the series after winning Game 1 by an 11-4 score Tuesday on the road.

A strong start helped Odessa High snap a three-game losing streak with Daniel Sanchez recording three RBIs in the first victory.

Odessa High currently has a 10-9-1 overall record with a 2-5 mark in district play, while the Rebels sit at 12-6 and 3-3.

Panthers visit Midland High

After opening its three-game series against Midland High with a win, the Permian baseball team will hit the road to face the Bulldogs at 6 p.m. Friday at Zachery Field in Midland.

Permian came away with an 11-2 win against the Bulldogs Tuesday at McCanlies Field.

Sebastian Bravo led the way for the Panthers with three RBIs recorded in the contest, while Caleb Boswell struck out seven batters.

The Panthers are currently on a five-game winning streak.

Permian has an 18-3 overall record with a 7-0 mark in District 2-6A, while Midland High is 7-14 and 1-5.
