WACO The Permian football team got in the win column with a 27-21 victory at Waco Midway Friday at Panther Stadium.
With the win, Permian improved to 1-1 for the season while Midway fell to 0-2.
Trailing 21-19 in the fourth quarter, the Permian Panthers scored when Juzstyce Lara took the ball in on a 4-yard carry and with the 2-point conversion reception by Uriel Montoya, the Panthers took a 27-21 lead with 7:46 left in the game.
Permian’s defense was able to stop Midway from responding and held on for the win.
Permian will be back at home next week against Amarillo Tascosa (1-1) for a 7 p.m. contest Sept. 8 at Ratliff Stadium.
