HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Panthers keep pace in district standings with win over San Angelo Central

The Permian boys basketball team stayed in the fight for second place in District 2-6A with a 75-57 win over San Angelo Central Tuesday at the Permian Fieldhouse.

Permian jumped ahead with an eight-point lead to close out the first quarter.

The Panthers went on to lead by 14 points heading into the break and added to its lead throughout the second half.

A 23-point effort from the Bobcats in the fourth quarter wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.

Jamobrione Anderson led the Panthers with 28 points in the contest.

Permian (21-6 overall, 6-3 district) have an open date Friday before playing Midland Legacy at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8 in Midland.
