WOLFFORTH The Permian baseball team needed to win a pair of games to claim an outright district title and the top seed in District 2-6A.
The Panthers checked both goals off the list by completing two victories over Wolfforth Frenship Friday at Tiger Field. Permian won the first game 9-8 in the completion of the suspended game Tuesday and followed that with a 5-3 victory over the Tigers.
Jake Glasman delivered one of the tying runs in the seventh inning before bunting in Cade Tschauner to win the first game.
Permian used a four-run third inning to propel them to an outright title. The Panthers will play El Paso Socorro in the Class 6A bi-district playoffs next week while Wolfforth Frenship will be the No. 3 seed.
