HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Panthers run into a buzz saw in Wolfforth

WOLFFORTH Wolfforth Frenship’s Nick Blevins turned in a dominant performance on the mound as the Tigers shutout visiting Permian, 5-0, in District 2-6A play Thursday at Frenship.

Blevins went the distance, allowing just three hits over seven innings while striking out eight Panthers.

Cal Warren, Jax Sims and Tito Ramirez all had one hit for Permian (13-12-2 overall, 4-4 in district).

Ethan Curbo was 3 for 3 to lead Frenship, which scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back.

The three-game series continues at 4:30 p.m. Friday at McCanlies Field.
