GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL GOLF: Lady Panthers finish ninth at Region I-6A Tournament

GRAND PRAIRIE The Permian girls golf team placed ninth at the Region I-6A Tournament, carding rounds of 346-349—695 Wednesday and Thursday at the Tangle Ridge Golf Club.

The Lady Panthers finished one shot behind El Paso Coronado and 27 shots ahead of Midland Legacy.

Permian’s team consisted of Angela Aguirre, Isabella Segura, Lucy Pennington, Ella Veretto and Daniella Muniz.

Aguirre (87-83—170) and Segura (79-91—170) paced the Lady Panthers, tying for 35th in the individual standings.

The top three teams and top three individual finishers at regionals qualified for the state tournament May 16-17 in Georgetown.

Hebron placed first, followed by Southlake Carroll and Coppell.

Keller Timber Creek’s Samantha Gibbs, Trophy Club Byron Nelson’s Jordyn Arts and Flower Mound Marcus’ Kamri Gabel were the top three individual finishers not on the qualifying teams.
