MESQUITE The UTPB softball team scored eight runs in the third inning to break things open en route to a 10-1 victory against Northwestern Oklahoma at the North Texas Softball Bash Friday at the Mesquite Softball Complex.
The game ended after five innings due to the mercy rule.
Maritza Rojas earned the victory, allowing five hits and striking out three.
Adrianna Berzoza was 2 for 3 with three runs scored and one RBI for the Falcons (4-5).
