COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UTPB men suffer second-half collapse in loss to Tarleton State

STEPHENVILLE The No. 12 UTPB men’s basketball team was outscored by 32 points in the second half Thursday night, falling to Tarleton State 78-54 at Wisdom Gymnasium.

The Falcons (22-4 overall, 14-3 Lone Star Conference) led by eight points at the halftime break before being outscored 51-19 in the games’ final 20 minutes.

UTPB’s Daeshon Francis led all scorers with 21 points, going a perfect 12-12 on free throws. No other Falcons’ player scored in double digits.

The Falcons can still clinch the No. 1 seed in the Lone Star Conference Tournament with a win Saturday at Texas A&M-Commerce.
