CANYON The UTPB men’s basketball team dominated from start to finish Saturday to win its opening game of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional 87-69 over Arkansas-Fort Smith.

The Falcons (25-6) held a 30-point lead at halftime and cruised to victory to advance to Sunday’s semifinal against Regis College.

UTPB’s Josh Morris led all scorers with 28 points. Fort Smith’s Ladarius Coleman led the Lions with 25 points.

Daeshon Francis added 18 points for the Falcons. James McPherson finished the game with 12.
