COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UTPB can’t slow West Texas A&M down in loss

CANYON The UTPB men’s basketball team suffered its most lopsided loss of the season, falling 85-55 against West Texas A&M Saturday in Lone Star Conference play.

It was a back-and-forth affair early in the first half, with the Falcons taking a lead to start the game until the Buffaloes took control before the break.

West Texas A&M closed out the opening half on a 15-0 scoring run to lead by 19 points at the break.

Things didn’t get better for the Falcons in the second half, as they were outscored 50-39.

DaJuan Jones led the Falcons with 12 points scored in the contest, followed by Keyon Craddock with 11.

UTPB (10-8 overall, 2-4 conference) will host Eastern New Mexico at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Falcon Dome.
