The Odessa College men’s and women’s basketball teams open Western Junior College Athletic Conference play against New Mexico JC Wednesday at the OC Sports Center.
The Lady Wranglers take the court at 5:45 p.m., followed by the men’s team at 7:30 p.m.
This will be the first WJCAC action for the women’s team since the spring of 2020 as it was on hiatus last season while looking for a coach during COVID-19 restrictions.
The Lady Wranglers (2-4) have lost four straight after opening the season with back-to-back victories at home (Nov. 4-5).
Jessie Dai leads the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game, followed closely by Lala Niankan (12.0). Niankan also averages eight rebounds per game.
The Wranglers (8-5) traveled to Florida last week, going 1-2 at the Thanksgiving Classic at Pensacola State College.
Daniss Jenkins leads the team with 15.9 points and 4.2 assists per game, while Daniel Rivera averages 5.5 rebounds per contest.
