LUBBOCK The UTPB baseball team won its doubleheader against Lubbock Christian University Friday on the road.
The Falcons won by scores of 8-5 and 12-11, bringing them to 5-2 overall, 5-2 in Lone Star Conference.
UTPB won the first game after erasing a three-run deficit by scoring three runs of its own in the top of the fourth to tie things up.
UTPB made it 8-3 in the fifth.
The Falcons finished with six hits and one error while the Chaps had nine hits and two errors.
Game 2 saw both teams putting up hits as UTPB finished with 13 hits and two errors while Lubbock Christian had 14 hits and one error.
The Falcons scored three runs in the top of the ninth and held on for the one-run victory.
Both teams will finish their series in a single game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
