COLLEGE BASEBALL: Late rally not enough to complete comeback for Odessa College

A late surge by the Odessa College baseball team was not enough to complete the comeback as the Wranglers fell 14-10 in 11 innings to Cisco College in the Region V West Regional Finals Sunday at Big Spring Refinery Ballpark.

Odessa College (23-25 overall) trailed 9-3 entering the bottom of the ninth inning before pulling even with six runs scored. Both teams scored a run each in the tenth before Cisco College (43-15) pulled away with four runs in the top of the eleventh inning.

Lenin Ashby led the way offensively for the Wranglers with four hits and three runs driven in. Both teams will play one more game for the regional title at 1 p.m. Monday back in Big Spring.

The winner advances to play the winner of the North Regional for a spot in the national tournament.
