MIDLAND Sockers FC opened its 2021 season with a disappointing draw as FC Brownsville scored in stoppage time for a 2-2 result Saturday at Grande Communications Stadium.
Halil Ibrahim Yilmaz scored in the first half and Alonso Rodriguez added another goal in the 50th minute to put the Sockers (0-0-1) up 2-0.
Jose Echavarria of Brownsville cut the deficit in half with his first goal of the season with a breakaway.
Miguel Payan pulled the visitors level in the final 30 seconds of the contest.
