Mother’s Day must-have foods

Mother’s Day is right around the corner and we are calling all the dads out there helping their little (or big) kids spoil their mom! Being moms ourselves, we’d like to think we have an insider scoop on how mom would like to wake up, and it’s not a mountain of dishes used to create a thoughtful breakfast. There are hundreds of items across the store that are either ready to go or need a little something extra added to them to wow mom with minimal mess and effort. These products are not only keeping mom nourished from a health perspective but also the mental load. Here are some favorite products to pull together an excellent Mother’s Day breakfast with minimal effort and cleanup.

MINI BUBBLIES

Let’s say you want a simple glow up from the usual coffee and juice routine. This is the perfect way to portion control alcohol intake and keep bubbles fresh. If you’ve got an extra juice box in the fridge or need to plan it out with one of our single-serve juices in the front-of-store coolers it’s an extra bonus to making mom feel special.

BAKERY MINI CROISSANTS

Who doesn’t love carbohydrates? Need we say more? Of course we will add another shameless plug of portion size here. Mini anything is a great way to enjoy all the foods you love. Should your body be telling you that it isn’t “full” yet, this is an excellent way to honor your hunger and go back for what you do want to enjoy a second helping of.

FRESH CUT FRUIT

Take the shortcut here for you and the kids. The fresh cut option is wonderful for a few reasons: it can cut down your time in the kitchen, great for little ones to feel included by placing things on the plate, no messy knives or cutting boards, and one less thing to heat up and do.

READY TO DRINK COFFEE

Have you tried ready to drink coffee? You can buy ones from concentrate and mix with water and serve it up cold, hot, add fancy syrups and creamers or keep it as is. For example, load up some ice in a glass and pour over a ready-to drink option like chameleon, la colombe, high brew, rise brewing co, stok, or chobani. Watch the added sugars in each of these options as they all vary in amounts with different flavors and brands.

READYMEALS QUICHE

Want to really impress mom? Grab a ReadyMeals quiche and a tub of arugula. Warm up the quiche according to its package directions. Place a small handful of arugula on the plate and place a piece of quiche on top. Not only is this a show stopper presentation, but it’s also excellent in terms of nutritional value with eggs and additional vegetables. Pair it with some of the other things we’ve mentioned and you’ve set a low, yet high, bar to spoil mom for next year.

SIMPLY POTATOES

Want to put in the extra bit of effort to make hash browns? These potatoes taste divine and their package instructions are on-point with how to crisp them up perfectly. Another great part about these are the hard work of shredding the potatoes is already done and you just need to add the extra onions, cheese, or whatever else you desire.

Want to get the kids involved a little more and do the dishes before getting mom up? This quiche is another excellent choice if you’ve got the extra time and hands.
