Woman facing assault charge

A 24-year-old woman was arrested Thursday after her roommate accused her of coming after him with a wooden plank and knife.

According to an Ector County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies received a disturbance call shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday from the 800 block of North Truth Street.

When deputies arrived, a 52-year-old man said Faith Farris picked up a large serrated knife and wooden plank during an argument and charged at him, the report stated. After hitting him with the plank, he said she picked up a rock from the driveway and threw it at him.

The deputy noted in his report the man had an abrasion and bruise on his left wrist.

Farris admitted she threatened to “cut” the man, the report stated.

Farris was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison.

She remained in the Ector County jail Tuesday on a $50,000 surety bond.
