UTPB set to host COVID vaccination site

A press release issued Thursday morning detailed the City of Odessa, the University of Texas Permian Basin and the Ector County Health Department announced a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the UTPB soccer complex parking lot.

The clinic will begin Sept. 21 and will be open Tuesdays – Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the UTPB soccer complex parking lot. Drivers are asked to not line up on the Hwy 191
frontage road.

Items to bring to the vaccination site include a vaccination card (wait times expected to increase without vaccination card) and a driver’s license.

First and second shots will be offered, the press release stated. Third shots will only be available with a doctor’s note, regardless of the amount of time that has passed. Information on booster shots is subject to change in accordance with CDC guidelines.

The vaccination clinic is open to the public. 500 vaccines will be given each day. No appointment or preregistration is needed. Both Pfizer and Moderna will be available.
