HEAT leaders applaud passage of Alaska’s Right to Produce Act

WASHINGTON, DC On Wednesday, RSC House Energy Action Team (HEAT) Chairman Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX), RSC Chairman Kevin Hern (R-OK), and Rep. Pete Stauber (MN-08) released the following statement after the U.S. House passed H.R. 6285 – Alaska’s Right to Produce Act of 2023:

“Since day one of his Administration, President Biden has waged a disastrous war on American energy production. Now turning his sights to Alaska, the President has dealt a devastating blow to Alaska’s communities and American energy consumers by drastically limiting energy development on Alaska’s North Slope. Not only does this decision contradict the wishes of Alaska’s tribes and other hard-working Alaskans who stood to benefit from the jobs and revenue that the responsible production of these resources would create, but it will raise energy costs and further cement our reliance on foreign adversaries like Russia and China.

“Energy security is national security, which is why we are proud to see the House pass our bill, the Alaska’s Right to Produce Act, today. This critical legislation will overturn Biden’s harmful actions on the North Slope and move Alaska’s energy producers one step closer to developing their God-given natural resources.”
