Two men killed in separate wrecks

Two Permian Basin men have died in recent days in separate vehicle wrecks.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Jonathan Pete Fuentes-Wilson, 31, of Odessa was traveling west on South Loop 338 in a Chevrolet Camaro Tuesday night when he veered into the eastbound lane of travel and hit a Ford F-150 being driven by a 33-year-old Odessa man two miles south of Odessa.

Fuentes-Wilson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene and the other driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Medical Center Hospital in stable condition.

Early Thursday morning, German Barbosa Martinez, 38, of Pecos was traveling southwest on County Road 415 in a Chevrolet Tahoe when he veered off the roadway roughly four miles outside Pecos, hit a power line anchor and over-corrected, according to DPS.

His Chevy veered back across the road and rolled. Martinez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at Reeves Regional Hospital.
