Two killed in three-vehicle crash

A three-vehicle crash Tuesday north of Pecos involving an Odessan left a driver and a passenger dead.

Jose Caraveo Perez, 39, of Odessa was towing a semi-trailer north on U.S. Highway 285, a Texas Department of Public Safety press release said, while 33-year-old Gentry Mitchell of Conroe was driving a short distance behind him.

Gentry reportedly failed to control his speed, the release detailed, and collided into Perez’s vehicle. Gentry’s vehicle was then sent into the southbound lane, where it collided into a 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 being driven by 36-year-old Aaron Gonzalez of Nueces.

The release said Gentry and the passenger in his vehicle, 39-year-old Kevin Crosetto of Spring, were pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
