Ector County Republican Party announces endorsements

The Ector County Republican Party announced the endorsement of three candidates Thursday for the upcoming March 6 Primary election.

“Our Party strongly supports Debbi Hayes for County Judge, Greg Simmons for County Commissioner Precinct 2, and Arlo Chavira for County Commissioner Precinct 4. These candidates have not only worked with, but more importantly for the Republicans of Ector County for years, whether it was in support of the Ector County Republican Party, the Republican Women’s Club, or our Texas Republican Platform,” said Tisha Crow, Ector County Republican Chair, in a news release.

“The second reason we chose to endorse these candidates is because we believe that they are most fiscal as well as socially conservative candidates in their races.”

The decision was made during the last Republican Party Executive Committee meeting. Members voted unanimously to endorse the three candidates, the release said.

“In recent history the local Republican Party has not formally endorsed candidates in a primary,” Crow said in the release. “This election there were, however, several candidates that we believe are just the better choice for the voting citizens of Ector County …”

The release states the group encourages all Republican Party voters to get out and vote in the Primary and to support Hayes, Simmons and Chavira. Early voting begins Tuesday and Election Day is March 6.
