Ronald Bennett to be honored at Texas Federation of Music Clubs convention

Odessan Ronald Bennett, nationally acclaimed pianist and composer, will be honored at the Texas Federation of Music Clubs convention Thursday through Saturday at the DoubleTree by Hilton Midland Plaza Hotel, 117 W. Wall St., in Midland.

The Midland Musicians Club and the Odessa Musicians Club are members of the Texas Federation of Music Clubs and will be jointly hosting the 103rd convention.

Bennett also will perform at 7:45 p.m. Thursday. He has been reviewing the arts for the Odessa American for several years. He will receive an award that night, as well, a news release stated.

Also free to the public is a performance by Baritone Andre Chiang at 8 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church (Main Street) Midland.

Ronald Bennett sits at the Baldwin piano in his music studio. He has been teaching lesson since 1959. Bennett also writes his own music and has been a music theater and arts critic for the Odessa American.
