Police: Odessan uses knife, fork on wife

An Odessa man was arrested Friday night after his common-law wife told police he’d beaten her and stabbed her with a switch blade knife and fork.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, dispatchers received a disturbance call from the 300 block of Ruth Street around 9:30 p.m. When officers arrived they found a 39-year-old woman with busted lips, two black eyes and bruises and cuts all over her head, face, arms and legs.

They also found broken furniture and glass all over the living room and kitchen along with a bloody knife and fork, the report stated.

The woman told officers Francisco Plasencia Jr., 37, becomes physically aggressive with her after using illegal drugs and drinking alcohol, the report stated.

Plasencia admitted to officers he’d slapped his wife and he was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He remained in the Ector County jail as of Monday night on a $100,000 surety bond.
