One man was killed and another man from Odessa was injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday in west Ector County.
Luis Leon-Amador, 49, of Miami Gardens, Fla. was driving a 2005 Saturn Vue south at about 5:15 a.m. Monday on FM 866 near State Highway 302, a Texas Department of Public Safety news release stated. Gilberto Pando, 55, of Odessa was traveling west in a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado on SH 302 when Leon-Amador failed to yield the right of way at the intersection, causing Pando to collide with Leon-Amador.
Leon-Amador was pronounced dead at the scene, the release detailed, and Pando was taken to Medical Center Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. The release added that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt.
