Man caught sleeping in stolen vehicle

A man faced a rude awakening early Wednesday morning after police caught him sleeping in a stolen vehicle.

Police were called about a suspicious vehicle around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday at 7-Eleven, 651 W. 42nd St., an Odessa Police Department news release stated. The vehicle had been parked at the gas pumps for about two hours.

Upon arrival, officers found a man asleep inside of a tan Dodge pickup, identified as 29-year-old Gary Little, the release detailed.

A check through the VIN number revealed the listed vehicle had been reported stolen earlier in the day from the 5000 block of North JBS Parkway, the release stated.

Little was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a state jail felony.

Jail records show Little was taken to the Ector County Detention Center Wednesday. No bond had been set as of Wednesday afternoon.
