Odessan accused of robbing man at knifepoint

A 28-year-old Odessa man was arrested late Monday night after another man accused him of robbing him at knifepoint.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, a 30-year-old man told officers he was driving on South Washington near West Clements Street when he was cut off and stopped by a dark colored car.

The alleged victim said a man got out of the car, knocked on the window while holding a tactical knife and forced him to drive to a Stripes in the 1500 block of South Grant, the report stated.

Once at the store, the man told officers he was forced to withdraw a total of $600.

According to the report, officers were able to identify Alex Reyna as the suspect from surveillance video and found him at his house in a gray Hyundai Sonata that contained a black folding pocket knife, cocaine and marijuana.

Reyna was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery and possession of a controlled substance.

Yadira Estrella, 23, who was found near the Hyundai, was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana.

Reyna remained in the Ector County jail Tuesday night on surety bonds totaling $96,000. Estrella was released after paying a $1,000 surety bond.
