Authors @ The Ector is hosted by Odessa Arts at the historic Ector Theatre in downtown Odessa.
A press release detailed that Odessa Arts is welcoming Elizabeth Wetmore for another installment of Authors @ The Ector on Thursday. The doors open at 6 p.m. and curtain at 7 p.m. with a book signing to follow as Wetmore dives in to her novel, Valentine.
Valentine has won critical acclaim including earning a spot on The New York Times hardcover fiction bestseller list, the press release stated. Set in the 1970s, Valentine follows the aftermath of a brutal crime against a young girl in Odessa.
Wetmore gives readers an urgent, haunting exploration of the intersections of violence and race, class and region in a story that plumbs the depths of darkness and fear but offers a window into beauty and hope.
